Giving Back - Where We Donate

In our two years since launching Riot Healers, we have donated a total of $21,404.

At Riot Healers, we center our business practices around integrity, advocacy, and transparency. Even in the infancy of starting this business, giving back to organizations aligned with our values has been a top priority. 

Please see the following organizations below and where we are directing resources. 

ONGOING DONATIONS 

$1,006 to Thresholds Chicago. 10% of our profits from our Health is a Human Right tee's are donated. By breaking cycles of poverty and unemployment, Thresholds fights to transform the lives of people living with mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

$630 to the Center on Halsted10% of our profits from our Proud to Care for All collection are donated. The Center on Halsted is the Midwest's most comprehensive community center dedicated to advancing community and securing the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ people in Chicago.

$359 to Planned Parenthood Action Fund. 10% of our profits from our Mind Your Own Uterus collection are donated. By promoting reproductive health worldwide, PP protects access to safe, legal abortion and reproductive rights.

$345 to Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC). 100% of profits from stickers & buttons, and 10% of our tee's from Riot Healers x TheACU collection are donated. The AAJC works to advance civil and human rights for Asian Americans, building and promoting a fair and equitable society for all.  

$389 to Melanated Midwives. 10% of profits from the RiotHealers x TheSoulExperiment collection are donated. MM is a nonprofit organization that advocates and supports BIPOC professionals in midwifery by providing scholarships and mentorship opportunities.  

$6,292 to Everytown, 100% of net-profits from our Gun Reform Now collection to advocating for a legislative plan that includes more thorough background checks and mandates for safer gun storage, while opposing ideas like arming teachers.

$4,121 to Yellowhammer Fund, 10% of net-profits from our 2022 Roe V Wade Collection and ongoing "Abortion is Healthcare" tee to promoting reproductive justice and safe abortion in the Deep South.

$1,800 to Trans Lifeline10% of net-profits from our 2023 Pride Collection and ongoing "Laws off Trans Lives" x Delia Sosa to offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis.

$1,815 to  Mayday Health50% of net-profits from our Mayday Collaboration. With Executive Director Dr. Jennifer LincolnMayday Health is a 501(c)(3) reproductive health education nonprofit that empowers people to make their own choices, providing resources and education about birth controlmorning-after pills, and abortion.

$818  Doctors Without Borders, 100% of net-profits from our Peace for All Collection who is actively working on preparing medical and humanitarian supplies to be sent to Gaza.

One-Time Donations

$160 to Impact in Health for a banner we co-designed used at in-person marches and rallys. 

$3,015 to Trevor Project 10% of net-profits from our 2022 PRIDE collection, to help provide 24/7 crisis support services to LGBTQ young people.

$388 to Therapy Aid Coalition for Nurses Week 2021. Therapy Aid Coalition is an organization providing free & low cost therapy for essential workers.

$150 to IGrow Chicago. Through programming and support offered directly in the Englewood community of Chicago, IGrow works to tackle the root causes of violence trauma.

$50 to Cure Violence. 10% of proceeds from June 4th, 2021, Gun Violence Awareness Day were donated. Cure Violence works globally to reduce violence using a disease control and behavior change model.
